Intern Creativity at Vita Barre: Intern Spotlight

Hello Vita Barre Community,

My name is Makenna Masters, and I am thrilled to be Vita Barre’s new marketing and social media intern for the fall of 2024. I am so excited to share a bit about myself and the journey I’m embarking on with this fantastic team.

I am currently a senior at Clemson University, majoring in Graphic Communications. As I approach the final chapters of my college career, I’ve discovered a deep passion for marketing and have decided to hopefully pursue it as a career after graduation. When I came across the opportunity to intern with Vita Barre, I was instantly drawn to the idea of combining my love for dance with my burgeoning marketing skills.

What captivated me most about Vita Barre was not only the chance to work with a company that’s a leader in manufacturing and distributing high-quality ballet barres right here in the US, but also the unique behind-the-scenes perspective I would gain. The meticulous process of designing, producing, and packaging ballet barres fascinated me, and I knew it was a perfect match for my interests.

In my role as an intern, I’ve been deeply immersed in a variety of tasks that allow me to both apply and expand my marketing skills. One of my key responsibilities has been crafting diverse email campaigns aimed at engaging our customer base with exciting updates about upcoming collaborations, promotions, and contests. This aspect of my role has been incredibly rewarding, as I get to design content that directly connects with our audience and drives interaction. Additionally, I manage our company’s social media presence by scheduling and curating daily posts for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other platforms. This involves not only strategic planning but also a keen eye for engaging visuals and compelling copy. I’ve been using my graphic design skills extensively, creating eye-catching designs and promotional materials through Canva. This has allowed me to bring a creative flair to our content and ensure that our messaging is both consistent and visually appealing. What I appreciate most about this internship is the creative freedom I’ve been given. I’m encouraged to experiment with new ideas and approaches, which has been both empowering and inspiring. At the same time, I’m learning a tremendous amount from the experienced marketing department and the overall team. Their guidance and feedback have been invaluable, helping me to refine my skills and understand the nuances of effective marketing strategies. The collaborative environment at Vita Barre has fostered my growth in ways I hadn’t anticipated, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute meaningfully while continually learning and evolving in my role.

Beyond the professional growth, I’m excited about how this internship allows me to blend my personal interests with my career aspirations. As someone who has danced for years and understands the dedication it takes, it’s rewarding to be part of a company that supports and equips dancers with top-notch equipment. Being able to market and create creative content for a company that is inspiring to me is truly a dream of mine, and I cannot wait to see what else Vita Barre has in store for me!
